Many people are familiar with Barbara Van Cleve’s work because of her 1995 book Hard Twist: Western Ranch Women, which was also an exhibition that traveled to museums for a decade including the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame.
In this first exhibition featuring the breadth of Van Cleve’s subject matter, viewers experience the other themes she addresses in Pure Quill: The Photographs of Barbara Van Cleve including her Rodeo as Dance series, her striking portraits using the moon and stars as a light source, and her documentation of the Spanish Mission Trail in Baja, California, which she has recorded over more than two decades.
The exhibit will run Nov. 18, 2016-May 5, 2017 in the Anne W. Marion Gallery located in the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame.
If you feel like escaping Vail Village Club Apartments in Dallas, Texas for the day, this event is a perfect opportunity to do just that!
